Sandulela Technology, the Cape Town-based wholesaler of prepaid electricity has been awarded the Ekurhuleni Municipality contract as one of its point of sale service providers for prepaid electricity vending services to third parties.
Ekurhuleni Municipality includes 340,000 prepaid meters that consumes roughly R200 Million in prepaid electricity sales per month. Ekurhuleni is the 2nd largest metropolitan in prepaid electricity in South Africa, with Cape Town being the largest with 580,000 prepaid customers.
Sandulela’s High Performance Switch (HPS) system provides the ability for municipalities to sell prepaid electricity to aggregators and municipal consumers using various distribution channels including point of sale, retail, online and mobile vending. Sandulela holds Eskom, City Power, eThekweni, City of Cape Town and now Ekurhuleni Municipality to its impressive portfolio of municipal clients.
The three-year contract commences 12 July 2019.
